![]() Tricia Takanawa is the token Asian character and doesn’t have much of a personality outside of being an offensive Asian stereotype. is the hyperactive son of Cleveland and Loretta, and he goes through a massive transformation when he reappears in the spinoff, The Cleveland Show.Īnother minor yet recurring character that appeared in multiple FG episodes is Jim Kaplan, who was a salesman who enjoyed swindling Peter with his schemes. ![]() Francis Griffin is Peter’s extremely religious non-biological father, voiced by Charles Durning. He’s married to Barbara Pewterschmidt, who is basically just an older version of Lois. I’m probably gonna grow up to be exactly like him. One of my favorite characters is Carter Pewterschmidt, the billionaire father of Lois. We are introduced to more supporting characters and the main characters/existing supporting characters become more developed as the episodes progress. Granted, it’s a really dark joke, but this joke happens out of context and the fact that Aunt Marguerite died merely seconds from entering the Griffin house is the epitome of FG writers doing satire the right way. ![]() In the first episode of the second season ( Peter, Peter, Caviar Eater), the plot opens up with Lois’ aunt Marguerite coming to visit, only to collapse and kick the bucket. Weed, Cleveland’s sassy wife Loretta, the paraplegic police officer neighbor Joe Swanson, his soft-spoken wife Bonnie, and their teenage son Kevin.ĭuring Season 2: I’d have to say that Season 2 is when I got hooked on Family Guy, because the episodes were really creative and the jokes fired on all cylinders. In addition to Quagmire and Cleveland, other characters that make their debut in Season 1 of FG include the arrogant news reporter Tom Tucker, his co-anchor Diane Simmons, the soft-spoken, mustached homosexual Bruce, Peter’s boss Mr. ![]() For the first 4 seasons, Quagmire and Cleveland would usually get crunk together – they were both smarter than Peter and they both knew how to attract women. We’re introduced to Cleveland and Quagmire in the first episode. Remember, there were only 7 episodes in the first season. I enjoyed this season of Family Guy, but I wouldn’t list the first season as my favorite season because there weren’t enough episodes to keep me interested. It’s also worth noting that Brian was best friends with Peter and the straight man to Peter’s idiocy before being the emotional and intellectual counterpart of Stewie.ĭuring Season 1: This is the season where viewers get to know all the characters, or at least the Griffin family. Brian went from being the voice of reason to a liberal douche. I will admit that I too had apathy for my mother since we disagreed on many things, but I eventually grew out of it and realized that our bond was special just the way it is. I can easily relate to Stewie because he’s the youngest child in the fam like me, the reasonably smart one, and had apathy for his mother because he was confused about himself. Meg was the awkward teenage daughter trying to fit in with the rest of the crowd, Chris was the prepubescent son with low self-esteem and Stewie was the matricidal baby. The more I think about it, I’m starting to notice that Peter was probably based off Fred Flintstone and Lois was probably based off Wilma Flintstone, but it’s worth mentioning that those characters were heavily inspired by Ralph and Alice Kramden from The Honeymooners. Lois was the tolerable, red-haired wife of Peter. He liked to watch TV, drink beer and tell really funny jokes. Peter was the stupid, yet lovable protagonist. The jokes were funny, the plots were well-developed, and the characters were relatable.
